The Farmers Market, Delivered

Arganica is Washington DC's premier local-source food club providing year-round delivery direct to your doorstep once a week. Our aim is to bring you the best and widest selection of offerings from our local producer network, while saving you time and money. We think buying local should be easy...not work!

Arganica's goal is to provide a healthy, locally-sourced variety of great foods from the best small-scale and artisan producers we can find, at competitive prices, while creating a better market—and thus income—for the producers involved. We put our efforts into supporting the local economy, family farms, and small batch kitchens by seeking them out and bringing their products directly to you.

We deliver right to your door between 5 and 8:30 pm every Thursday. If you're there, great. If not, we can leave your box in a designated spot or cooler.

At Arganica, we are committed to providing:

1. Quality: We strive to source all our foods from local producers, who employ the latest strategies in growing, baking, or creating the highest quality of foods. Natural, spray-free, free-range, and sustainable are the hallmarks of our producers.

2. Convenience: With our weekly ordering process through email, you never have to search for a parking space! By consolidating deliveries to the DC area weekly, we help you save on gas (and parking tickets) while lowering your personal–and our community's–carbon footprint.

3. Price: Compare our prices with your local grocery store or farmers market, and you'll be surprised at how competitive our prices are.

4. Transparency: We tell you who produces each product, and where our producers are located.

Arganica Challenges:

We are a young company with high goals and are working incrementally to reach those goals. One goal is providing transparency of food origin, which is a crucial piece of info for serious food buffs like you and us. As we get it we will place it here, and we'll work hard to let you know what we don't know. Arganica is a work in progress, and cannot guarantee we know everything about everybody whose foods we carry. Though we do try very hard. See this for more.

Arganica Perks:

Recycling & Composting: Your food arrives in a handmade wooden crate, which means no grocery bags! Just leave your crate out for us from the previous week's delivery, along with your empty glass milk bottles (if you've ordered our organic milk) and your bagged table scraps for our composting effort.

Community: We believe that local food and local community go hand in hand. So, look out for a farm tour, Arganica potluck/ tasting, or other special event on occasion. 

Variety: We are constantly expanding our network of growers and artisan producers to become the convenient, year-round, local-foods specialist. You can expect something new to choose from nearly every week!

Curiosity:  We periodically include in your delivery regional "foodie" magazines, and whenever we roll out a new product, we tell you its story. Nothing makes honest food more exciting than knowing its source, its world.
